Douglas K. Blount is a professional philosopher specializing in issues at the intersection of philosophy, science, and theology.

He currently serves on the faculty of Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. Prior to joining Tarleton’s faculty, he served as Professor of Christian Apologetics and Chair of the Department of Apologetics and World Religions in the Billy Graham School of Missions, Evangelism and Ministry at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (2015-2019), Professor of Theological Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary (2008-2015), Associate Professor of Philosophy of Religion at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (1998-2007), and Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Criswell College (1992-1998).

He has also served as Associate Teaching Pastor at First Baptist Church, Burleson, Texas; Teaching Pastor at Redemption Evangelical Church in Burleson, Texas; and interim Senior Pastor at Harrison Hills Baptist Church in Lanesville, Indiana.

He earned Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Arts degrees from the University of Notre Dame as well as Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Baylor University.

Doug and his wife Andrea reside with two miniature Chihuahuas in Bluff Dale, Texas. They have two children—Katie and Andrew. Katie, her husband Jimbob and dogs Barkley and Willow live in Fort Worth, Texas; Andrew and his dog Beau live on the edge of the Texas hill country.
